- 1st_person 1.1 / Camera bone constraint adjustment
- Add the required add-ons
- Add a guide for installing and setting up the add-ons
I’ve created the easiest and fastest Blender rig for making first-person animations.
The rig is built using Blender’s MetaRig,
making finger control especially simple.
With the newly designed UI, the animation export process has been streamlined
just a few clicks are all it takes.
Requirements
Since this add-on was created using Blender 3.4, please report any issues if it doesn’t work properly in newer Blender versions — I’ll release an update if necessary.
Smooth First-Person Rig is distributed through the PIKPAK Cloud.
PIKPAK Cloud offers 6 GB of free storage space.
You can save the shared file to your own PIKPAK Cloud and download it directly from there.
After downloading, you can delete the file from your cloud to continuously use the 6 GB of free storage space.
Installation Process
- Install Blender.
- Download 1st_person.zip and Skyrim Assist.zip, io_hkx_animation.zip
from the Smooth First-Person Rig link.
- Unzip 1st_person.zip and open the 1st_person.blend file.
- Install the io_hkx_animation.zip add-on and the Skyrim Assist.zip add-on.
Edit - Preferences - Add-ons - Install
After installing io_hkx_animation.zip and enabling it, set the paths according to the location where you extracted 1st_person.zip, as shown in the screenshot above.
And
install Skyrim Assist.zip and enable it.
UI and Animation Export

Import HKX – Selects the HKX file to import from the import rig.
Export HKX – Exports the created animation as an HKX file from the export rig.
Exporting the Finished Animation
-
Click the Export button.
-
Click the Export HKX button.
- For the primary skeleton path, specify the file 1skeleton.hkx located in the tool\skeleton folder inside the 1st_person.zip you extracted.
Click the Reset button - Returns to the controller rig.
Controls
For the first-person rig, you only need to control the arms and the camera.
Move the Camera1st [Cam1] bone to adjust the camera.
Press Numpad 0 to switch to the in-game first-person camera view.
Press 0 again to return to the 3D viewport.
The controller operation works the same way as Blender’s MetaRig controls.
To see how first-person camera movement is handled in Skyrim, check the 2hm_attackright action sheet — it’s a good reference.
